Sana Restaurant Halal on Jarry Street is a straightforward spot where the focus is clearly on delivering authentic Pakistani and Indian flavors without fuss. The interior matches its unpretentious exterior—think simple, no-frills decor—making it a casual place to grab a solid meal rather than linger over ambiance. This is a place where locals drop in for hearty, well-spiced dishes that feel homemade rather than overly polished.

The menu offers a broad range of classic items including butter chicken, various chicken curries, and a standout Lahori Chargha, plus options like lamb biryani and chicken tikka boti. Portions are generous enough for takeout or a relaxed sit-down. It’s especially suitable for folks looking for halal Pakistani and Indian dishes that hit the mark on freshness and seasoning, with several varieties of kababs, biryanis, and stews anchoring the menu.

Most guests seem to come here for a quick but satisfying lunch or dinner, appreciating the consistent quality. While the space itself isn’t geared toward a dining experience with ambiance or decor, the food carries the day, with highlights like their haleem praised for richness and freshness, and the chicken biryani reliably flavorful. The garlic naan has its fans too, offering a soft, garlicky balance to the spiced mains.

It’s the kind of place where the regulars return for a dependable taste of South Asian home cooking—whether grabbing a sandwich roll, a full Thali, or one of their grilled meat plates. Given its location on Jarry, it fits comfortably into the neighborhood’s mix of no-pressure eateries serving diverse communities. If you’re after well-seasoned food without frills, especially halal options in Montreal, Sana delivers with honest flavors and reasonable prices.

Sana Restaurant is honestly one of my favourite places to eat. The food is consistently amazing, especially their haleem. We always buy the haleem from there because it’s rich, flavourful and tastes fresh every single time. Everything else on the menu is great too and you can tell they really care about the quality. And don’t let the outside fool you. The inside food and service are on another level. The lady at the cash deserves a special shoutout. She is always so sweet and welcoming. She never pressures anyone to tip and she treats every customer with genuine kindness. She even gives free raita sometimes, and their raita is honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Small gestures like that make the whole experience even better. Overall, Sana Restaurant has great food and great people. We always enjoy going there and highly recommend it.

Decoration is not the best but the food is marvellous. I tried the meat grill that comes with the naan and soda, all the meats were well seasoned and cooked and the chicken was juicy. Also, we tried the mango lassi and it was one of the best drinks I’ve ever tried. I would go back again

It was a group order! Honestly the food was DELICIOUS! 10/10 I’m very pleased with everything expect that they aren’t very generous on the butter chicken. It was 14.99$ plus tax, no rice included, and a small container. But other than that, I strongly recommend it. The garlic naan is SOOOOOO GOOD!

Don’t let the looks deceive you! The food is authentic, delicious, and good portion for the price! I’ve tried many Indian places in Montreal and this one is my favourite. I keep finding myself coming back here! The chicken sizzler is killer! Fish pakora great size for the price.
